Creepy House...

Late one freezing, clear night, I had missed the last bus and had to walk home from school. The thick air was frizzing and there was not a sound coming from any direction. I was a very  terrified so I started dancing a little and singing at the same time so i would not be distracted. I turned into Dunn Road number 10 and started walking down the hill. I hated Dunn Rd at night! The house’s were all built in the 1920’s so they looked very old. The street-lights didn’t work that well  and the street was in total darkness except for the lights on in the old house windows.  Further down the hill I got, the quieter, cooler and the night seemed to become. The silence was broken by my friends zombie and ghost there long shadows  set in one spot. they both sounded like  werewolves howl and gave me such a fright that I nearly jumped out of my socks. Near the  bottom of the hill, the footpath ran out and I had to walk along the bumpy dirt track that led people to trees. There was no way I was walking through dark trees tonight … by myself... on Dunn Road! So, I decided to walk down the middle of the road instead.

It was the gates that first caught my attention. I could hear them creaking and groaning as they swung on one hinge. I stopped my humming  and looked up to see these tall, iron bars. Crouched on top of the brick fence posts were giant gargoyles. They looked like they were ready to pounce and their glowing red eyes slowly followed me as I tiptoed past the gate.

The house was scary and the front lawn was covered in old, gray headstones that were cracked. I was freaked out and I tip-toed past the gate but then I heard this loud groan coming from inside the house. It sounded like someone was in trouble.
